I live in Knoxville, TN with my college sweetheart, Peter—who happens to play golf on the PGA Tour—and our two boys, Hatcher (5) and Dash (2). 

For the past 10 years, I've traveled the professional golf circuit supporting Peter's career and keeping our family in close proximity. But, I've always longed for something that is truly mine. Something that's creative and fun, easy to take with me on a trip, and provides a valuable service to others. 

Then, a few years ago I began noticing that nearly all of the great family photos we had were posed, and essentially, staged. I kept thinking to myself, That's not what our life looks like. Instead, I wanted to walk in our home and see pictures of my kids climbing on the monkey bars, leaping for a frisbee, and playing baseball with their friends. I wanted to be reminded of how their sweet little faces looked when they felt free as a bird on a playground swing, rode their bike in the driveway, and celebrated a childhood milestone. I craved the process of documenting the authentic and candid moments of life, not only the ones that wind up on holiday cards. And, as a former college gymnast, that included sports.

So, I got a professional camera, took online courses, and never looked back. Why'd I name my new venture Lion Flower Photo? Because the most honest and real moments happen when you showcase the courage to be vulnerable—a type of vulnerability that arises when you might not get the outcome you want or when you show up like the real you not the perfect you.
